Telerik Beta release of its CMS Sitefinity 4.0 there are a lot of changes coming that's set to reduce the pain of managing really big websites.

Nenit created a screen-cast using Microsoft Expression Studio 4 encoder to demonstrate the CMS installation.

This video demonstrates the following:

  • Setting up a new IIS web site in the IIS Manager
  • Creating a new SQL Server database in SQL Server Management Studio
  • Using Sitefinity 4.0’s project manager to create a new IIS project
  • Opening the new project in Visual Studio
  • Removing the WebDavModule
  • Use the Sitefinity 4.0 setup wizard to setup a database connection
  • Creating the administrator account
  • Logging into Sitefinity for the first time
  • Creating a new page

Why is it good?

  • Utilises Teleriks Usability expertise
  • Lots of features you don't have time to create
  • Extremely extensible
  • Builds on technologies that ASP.Net developers already know
  • Fully supported by Telerik
