It was asked how do you change the look of a layout in an existing QuickBooks template due to fields moved and now overlap after upgrading to latest version.

What type of template changed an estimate or invoice. Selecting the list of invoices then double clicking any invoice will open up the create invoice dialog where a Customise drop down will be available in QuickBooks 2010. Choosing Customise Design and Layout option a dialog will appear where you can access the ability to customise data layout. This is where you add or remove fields for the associated template.

By activating the layout designer move the overlapping fields or newly added controls into the required location(s).

Note it’s advisable to look at the property of the controls being positioned to make sure they identify the correct value for the label as this could be a costly mistake when the invoice is shipped to the client. There are also some handy x and y coordinates available to precisely maintain horizontal and vertical alignment.
